Barta&Tychy

Tiles from the company Barta & Tichy late XIX century.
In 1875, on the outskirts of Prague, Ferdinand Barta and Karel Tychy founded a company that initially dealt with mineral fertilizers, chemicals and building materials, and later the partners built a plant for firing refractory clays, ceramics and decorative terracotta.

Ivan Levynsky brought the Czech Barta & Tychy tile to Lviv. And since 1890, the entrepreneur has already begun to produce “broom ceramics” – tiles made by a special technology of refractory clay at high melting temperatures.
